Mrs. Daghir and Mrs. Meyer collaborated their curriculum and invited alumni Luke and Ben Daghir to the Music and Religion classrooms. Ben and Luke are 2011 ECCHS graduates and former faculty of ECCSS. Ben and Luke gave helpful information on tying music and faith together to our 8th grade students. Both men have published articles in our local newspaper. Now it’s time for the students to find a song and use their resources. We pray for Ben and Luke in our daily prayers as they continue their vocation to the priesthood.
The Most Rev. Lawrence T. Persico, bishop of Erie, will ordain Deacons Benjamin Daghir, Nicholas Fratus and Christopher Wheeler to the priesthood on Friday, May 27, at 7 pm at St. Patrick Church, Erie. While ordinations are usually held at St. Peter Cathedral, this year’s will be held at St. Patrick due to ongoing renovations at the cathedral. Unfortunately, that means seating is limited and attendance is by invitation only. Mass will be livestreamed through the generosity of St. Patrick parishioners, and available through a link at www.ErieRCD.org.
Fr. Benjamin Joseph Daghir’s 1st Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church Sunday, May 29th at 3:30PM. It will be Live-Streamed on the St. Mary’s Catholic Church’s Facebook page.
