 Our students are practicing their faith and growing as members of the Catholic church through the following activities:

  • Daily prayers
  • Daily Religion class for elementary and middle schools
  • Daily theology class for high school
  • Weekly Mass
  • Sacrament of Reconciliation four times a year for elementary and middle schools
  • Sacrament of Reconciliation two times a year for high school (and as requested by students)
  • Sacramental preparation for First Communion and First Reconciliation
  • ECCSS Eucharistic Day twice a year
  • ECCSS system-wide celebration of Mass three times a year
  • ECCSS ECHO (Elk County Helping Others), the voice of youth ministry, with a full-range system-wide service program
  • Campus Ministry at the all three schools
  • Visible display of religious items, pictures and religious themed bulletin boards throughout all three schools
  • Visits to the Blessed Sacrament during Eucharistic Adorations
  • Training on the Rosary
  • Liturgical services such as Advent wreath/prayer service, Lenten observances, May crowning, and Stations of the Cross.
  • Student liturgical involvement: altar servers, lectors, choir • Special guest speakers for spiritual development such as Eucharistic Miracle Talks, Vocation Days, Monthly Video Clips on religious topics, Mass Kit presentations
  • ProLife and Respect for Life programs
  • Middle and high school students traveling to Washington, DC for March for Life
  • Middle and high school retreats for each class
  • Gospel Values Character Education focus at the elementary and middle schools
  • Special Thanksgiving and Christmas Student Masses at each school
  • Yearly professional spiritual training for faculty
  • Yearly spiritual development programs for faculty
  • Liturgical seasonal reflection evenings for faculty
