The fifth-grade students at St. Marys Catholic Elementary set a goal at the beginning of the school year to read 250 books by the end of the first quarter.
They kept track of their progress through a Reading Wall (see attached picture). Each time a student passed an Accelerated Reader test after reading a book, he or she placed a star on the wall.
The students are proud to announce that they crushed their goal by reading a total of 280 books! They had a sundae party to celebrate, and they set a new goal to read 300 books by the end of the second quarter. The class is on the road to read 1,000 books by the end of the school year!
Keep us posted, Miss Inzana and Mrs. Bosnik!
