Pictured is ECC alum, former high school teacher, and seminarian Ben Daghir ’11 leading a presentation at the annual Diocese of Erie Faith Formation Day at Beloved Disciple Parish in Grove City.

Ben presented to teachers and administrators from across the diocese, focusing on how teachers can be Christ-like each and every day. Ben used the image of the Nativity as a guiding reflection for the teachers, offering thoughts and comments to deepen their own understanding of their roles in and out of the classrooms.

He challenged the teachers to view their classrooms much like the manger where Jesus was born. Students, like the Magi, bring their own unique gifts to others and their teachers. The star is a representation of the research and instruction that goes into every life and lesson. And finally, Jesus acts as a model for the teachers in all their professional responsibilities.

We are very proud of Ben saying yes to discerning God’s plan for himself and for sharing his gifts with other Catholic school teachers in our diocese!
