ECCSS Student Wins Three State Champions

Nicole FlorioThe St. Marys Area gymnastics team traveled to Moon Township to participate in the PA Classic Gymnastics Championships over the weekend, falling just short of second place by less than one tenth of a point and placing third in the team standings while walking away with 12 medals, including a new state champion on three events.

Nicole Florio, an Elk County Catholic High School student, won three state championships in the Bronze Division, earning the top scores on vault, 8.833; floor exercises, 8.275; and in the all-around, 32.541.
